2010 More fun in Portland

Can you see Stacy?

We drove out in to the country and took a small hike up the Wahclella Falls Trail. It was only a mile long and at the end there was a beautiful waterfall. It seemed to be hiding in the backhills; you could hear the sound of  water but you could not see the waterfall until you arrived. Oregon has many many trails short and long I am sure that they are all great.

We also camped with the kids.Well we really did not camp wth the kids we simply helped them set up camp and then we left for a warm hotel. Stacy stayed with Jennifer and a few other moms and about 10 or 12 kids. They stayed at a state park that was right on the Pacific coast where only a sand (rocks) dune was between then and the camp. This was also next to a rain forest. I do think that all had a lot of fun hiking on the beach and in the forest. The State Park also had a nature class the next morning for children and the topic of the day was Owl Pellets. All the kids dissected a pellet. Aleks was in heaven!
Aleks and Luka both loved the adventure and Niki was just running back and forth enjoying his own adventures.

On one weekend we drove out to Mount Hood where there was still enough snow for skiers to ski. We had shorts on while others skied. After the mountain we had a short drive to another wonderful park.  We had lunch at this State park and some of us that were brave enough to go swimming. Cooold water!!!! You can see where the water is coming from and why it is so cold!!!!
